NetWorks MNO (Mobile Network Optimisation) opens the door to state-of-the-art mathematical optimisation for network planning and management. Mobile phone networks are represented by mathematical objects called graphs with handovers and call volume modelled by weights. The graph can then be partitioned, either at the BSC level or the PCU level, balancing the call volume and minimising inter-domain handovers.

At the heart of the software lies an optimisation engine based on JOSTLE, a cutting-edge graph-partitioning package in use by researchers and academics across the world since 1995. NetWorks incorporates the same sophisticated multilevel refinement techniques, developed over many years by researchers in Europe and the USA, to partition the network rapidly and effectively.
